Privacy.

This policy explains what Outranked collects when you visit outrankedd.lovable.app, click a listing or pay for a rank. It sits alongside the terms of service.

Who is responsible

The controller for personal data processed through the service is Liam Andreasson trading as Outranked, a sole proprietorship (enskild näringsverksamhet) registered in Sweden. Contact details, including the email for privacy requests, are on the legacy.

What we collect

We keep this small. We collect only what we need to run the board, take payment and stop abuse.

  • Visitor identifier. A random ID stored in your browser's local storage (key outranked_visitor_id). It lets us count visitors and spots viewed without a name, and it keeps the live "online" and "visitors today" numbers honest. It is not your name and it is not used for advertising.
  • Page views. When you open a page we record that visitor ID, the page and the time. This is what produces the visitor counts you see on the site.
  • Listing and checkout data. The website you submit, the category, the amount, and the public name, description and image we resolve for that destination. Payment confirmation identifiers from our payment provider are stored so we can place the ranking.
  • Payment data. Card details and billing identity are collected by our payment provider, not by us. We receive confirmation that you paid and how much.
  • Clicks. When you visit a listing from the board we record the listing, the time and the visitor ID, so click counts and rate limits work.
  • Technical data. Standard request data such as user agent, referrer and IP address is processed by our host to operate and secure the service.
  • Messages you send us. If you email a listing notice, a category correction or a privacy request, we keep that correspondence as needed to respond and to keep a legal record.

Local storage and cookies

The visitor ID lives in your browser's local storage. It is strictly necessary: it makes the visitor counts and click protection work. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell your data. You can clear the value at any time in your browser settings - the site will simply create a new ID the next time you visit.

Why we use this data

  • Contract. To take payment, create or raise a listing, show rank and provide the service you asked for.
  • Legitimate interests. To keep the board fair (rate limits, bot filtering), display public listing metadata, measure visits, debug outages and defend legal claims.
  • Consent. Where you ask for something extra, such as a listing change or a notice.
  • Legal obligation. To keep tax, accounting and complaint records where the law requires it.

Public listings

Rank, amount, name, image, description and destination link on the board are public. Anyone can see them, including search engines. Do not list a destination if you do not want that information shown. We fetch public metadata from the site you submit so visitors can recognise the listing; that fetch may disclose to the destination that Outranked requested the page.

Who we share data with

  • Our payment provider - checkout and payment confirmation.
  • Hosting, database and edge infrastructure so the site can run.
  • Metadata helpers (for example favicon and site-preview services) so we can show a name and picture for a listing.
  • Professional advisers, authorities or a buyer of the service, if we must share data to comply with law, enforce the terms or transfer the project.

We do not sell your personal data. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Visitor IDs stay in your browser until you clear local storage.
  • Public listing entries stay while the listing is on the board, and may remain in backups for a limited time after a takedown.
  • Payment identifiers and amounts are kept as long as needed for accounting, tax, fraud and dispute handling.
  • Page-view and click records are kept only as long as useful for rate limiting, abuse prevention and aggregate counts.

Your rights

If the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, you may ask us to access, correct, delete or export the personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing was based on consent. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority - in Sweden that is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Public listing content that also appears on your own website is not made private by appearing on the board; you can still ask us to remove the listing.

Children

The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the service, contact us and we will delete the data we can identify.

Changes

We may update this policy when the service or the law changes. The version you are reading is the one that applies to your use today; if a change is material we will say so here.
